Corn Stoves | Free Standing Corn Stoves and Fireplace Inserts

Corn Stoves are once again becoming a hot item. CornGo Corn Stoves are already flying in and out of the Earth in Hand show room at light speed, and the season is just starting. Home owners seeking a corn stove are encouraged to make their purchase early to ensure that they have it when the cold weather hits.

As the Corn stove season is just beginning, some changes to the Corn Stove site have happened and more will happen as the season picks up.

First off, Earth in  Hand no longer is carrying Wheat Pellets, due to a tremendous increase in the price.

Secondly, the site may also be undergoing a redesign, with a blog being attached to the actual site.

Product changes to include price changes, model changes etc will be forthcoming.

Until a latter  date, keep burning corn.

Wood Pellet Alternative- Wheat Pellets

Searching for a Wood Pellet Alternative?

Update: Earthinhand is no longer selling Wheat Pellets, but does still sell Corn Stoves and corn for the corn stoves.

Earth-in-Hand is now selling 50lb bags of Wheat Pellets, which are made out of waste by product that results when wheat is processed into its usable form. Wheat pellets produce about 7800 BTU per lb. and has ash of about 6%. Wheat maybe an alternative to people using wood pellets rather than corn because it burns cooler than corn, but slightly higher than wood. If someone would like to use wheat pellets as an alternative to wood pellets, they should first consult with either their owners manual or with the stove manufacturer.

Scanned the label off of one of the 50lb bags of Wheat Pellets, and posted on Flickr.

To order Wheat Pellets, either visit Earthinhands Contact Page or call them and leave a message at 610-559-5131.

Environment Festival

The festival last weekend started out a little wet, and continued to be wet through Saturday, but by the end of the day it warmed up quite nicely. I was a little shocked by the number of corn stove businesses that were at the fesitval this year. Overall it was a great time with lots of great information to be had for everyone. Some participating vendors that I noticed included:

There are probably more, and if I discover more, I will add them when time permits.

Energy Festival

Corn Stove events!

Next weekend marks the 2nd Annual PA Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Festival to be held at the Kempton Community Center.  Events include numerous classes on environmental living to include solar power, wind and hydorgen energy, and political awareness. The event is being run by the Mid-Atlantic Renewable Energy Association(MAREA), which will be raffling off a hybrid car. For more information on the event, see the Festival Web site http://www.paenergyfest.com/.

We were truly amazed by the turnout to last years festival, which spilled over throughtout the rest of year. People were continually calling us up or emailing us about our stoves, after having seen us in Kempton. This year promises to be even bigger. Several of the Earth-in-Hand crew will be sleeping out, as camping for a nominal fee is an option.

If you manage to make it out stop in say hello.

Corn Stove/Grill Marketing | Tailgating

Tailgaiting Corn Grill- A great idea I feel would be to attend some organized sporting events that are known for their tailgaiting parties, and tail gate with a corn grill. I believe the other tailgaiters, both sober and under the influence would be amazed. Definetly need to work on getting it out there. I do know more than one Penn State grad, and have had numerous invitations to go to Penn State. Perhaps I should indulge in a little college football tailgaiting with my Corn Grill.

Corn Stove Season

The season for corn stoves is rapidly approaching. Smart consumers will seek them out now while the temerature is hot. Those who wait for cold weather to get one will be find themselves on long waiting lists. I was on a blog just today were a young lady describes her corn stove project of getting a corn stove and putting it into her house.  I especially like the idea of putting a base down with fancy tiles and leaving a spot for the kids to put their hand prints. I hope to hear back from her to hear the status of her project.
