Earth-in-Hand has been at several home shows in 2006. The first was at the Expo center in Allentown. John was quite please with the turn out. The second, was the Lehigh Builders Association Home show at Stabler Arena, and again John was very pleased with the turn out. I on the other hand, was a bit turned off by the first show due to several things.
The first reason I was not overly impressed with the the show sponsors did a terrible job promoting the show. Ads were heard on the radio for the show, several hours after it had occurred, while on the way home. I feel there was way too much lag time at the show, and this I feel was due to its lack of advertising the event. In addition to the weak media use, the sponsors were unwilling to automatically place the vedors names and urls on the event website. A little Internet coverage for the huge show fee does not seem unreasonable to me. But what do you want from a bunch of self serving trade show crooks.
There were some good things about the show in Allentown Home Show. The people who did show up were very interested. John has had many good inquiries from it. Secondly, we met a lot of other vendors to which we can potentially network. The list of vendors we liked include but is not limited to:
- Secure Arms School, LLC which does not have a working website at the moment. They teach self defense to women. 1888-523-1656
- Dries Lumber-Bldg Materials which had a really cool pavilian
- World Teak Furniture Outlet Loved the furniture especially the outdoor patio furniture
- Fitness Central, which had some great fitness equipment to include mountain bikes and treadmills
- a great charity the $1 Energy Fund, Inc which funnels dollar donations to families who are in need fo energy during winter and summer.
- Arrow Master Pools had some tremendous pools and water features for landscaping...not your ordinary pool company
- Palmerton Lumber Co. Inc had a great table
- The Crack Team foundation repair specialists who has a funny slogan " A Dry Crack is a Happy Crack"
